Indian Airline SpiceJet Fires Fake Pilots

Posted on 26 March 2011

Published reports say that Indian Airline SpiceJet has suspended one active line airline pilot and fired two others for obtaining their jobs with fake documents.

UPI claims the airline issued a statement that read in part, “Passi had been suspended from flying (on March 16) while we awaited the full investigations to be concluded.” It continued, “This morning she has resigned from her job.”

Passi refers to Garima Passi, who allegedly failed a US-based flight training program and had a fear of flying.

The story claimed Passi had been serving as a co-pilot or second officer of a Boeing 737-800.
